Around 150 activists of Naam Thamizhar Katchi, including its founder-leader Seeman, were arrested today for staging a picketing near Tamil Nadu-Kerala Border protesting against the reported sealing of a pipeline supplying Siruvani water to the city.
The protesters, who squatted on the road at K K Chavadi, raised slogans against the Kerala Government, police said.
They alleged that Kerala was attempting to shut the main drinking water source of Coimbatoreans and wanted free flow of water.
Kerala PWD had reportedly resorted to closure of the pipleine below the dead storage level in the Siruvani dam.
