Select centres freight rates up on busy cargo movements

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select centres rose Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following busy cargo movements.
Transporters said increased arrivals of cargo and tight position of trucks, mainly pushed up freight rates for select destinations.
Capital to Chennai and Puducherry freight rates were up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 62,000 and Rs 66,000.
Rates to Kolkatta and Guwahati were also advanced by Rs 1,000 each at Rs 31,000 and Rs 54,000.
