Select destinations' freight rates slip

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for Kolkata, Surat and Mumbai destinations were down by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market today following excess position of trucks in the markets.
Transporters attributed the fall to heavy enquiries by truck operators.
Delhi to Kolkatta and Mumbai freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 29,000 and Rs 27,000.
Rates to Surat and Patna also moved down by Rs 1000 each to Rs 26,000 and Rs 27,000.
