Select pulses remain weak as govt plans to import

The slide in select pulses prices continued at the wholesale market today and traded lower by Rs 50 per quintal following government's measures to check rising prices by importing in large quantities.
Besides, increased supplies in the market against sluggish demand too put pressure on the prices.
Traders said adequate stocks position in the market following pick up in supplies after government's decision, kept pressure on prices.
In the national capital, moong and its dal chilka local remained under pressure and fell by another Rs 50 to Rs 7,050-7,750 and Rs 7,850-8,350 per quintal respectively.
In line with overall trend, peas white and green were down by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,850-2,875 and Rs 2,850-2,950 per quintal respectively.

Elsewhere, other commodities traded in a tight range in limited deals and pegged around previous levels.
