attempted to commit suicide by self immolation claiming that police failed to act upon her complaint that her husband was missing since last few days.
The woman had lodged a complaint that her husband Franklin had left home a few days ago, leaving her and seven-year old daughter in the lurch.
She said that the All Women Police station at Perur failed to take any action to bring her husband back and came to the district collectorate this morning, to bring the issue to the attention of Collector, police said.
She poured kerosene, hidden in her bag and tried to light a match-stick. However, police on duty, overpowered and foiled the suicide bid.
