Sena leader attacked in Thane

A local Shiv Sena leader was
allegedly attacked here by a group of unidentified persons, leaving him severely injured, police said today.
Dharmendra Choubey, Upshaka Pramukh of the Sena from Hazuri locality was attacked with a sword last night by 4-5 persons following which he was rushed to a nearby hospital with critical injuries, said Police Inspector Dilip Salunkhe of Wagle Estate Police station.
However, his condition is stated to be stable now, police said.
Police suspects that the attack was a fall out of rivalry on local issues.
A case has been registered under section 307 of IPC (attempt to murder) against the unknown assailants.
