Hearing a PIL filed by advocate Rajeev Kumar pleading for transfer of case to the NIA, the ED and the CBI for probe, the division bench comprising acting Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice P P Bhatt issued the direction to send notices to 14 respondents.
The court asked the respondents to file counter-affidavit by October 7. Jharkhand DGP, Home Secretary and Senior SP (Ranchi) were among the other respondents.
The petitioner has pleaded for probe by the three agencies as names of high-profile dignitaries like judicial, executive and police officers and ministers have surfaced in the case of alleged deceit and torture of Shahdeo by her husband Ranjeet Kumar Kohli alias Rakibul Hussain and his mother.
