Senior clerk Sandeep Anant Khanivdekar (45) had demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 from the complainant for transfer of name in a property tax matter, which was to be paid in instalments and the first instalment of Rs 10,000 was to be handed over yesterday, SP, Thane ACB Datta Karale said.
ACB sleuths laid a trap at the Kaman division office of the Corporation last evening and nabbed Khanivdekar taking Rs 10,000 as bribe, he said.
A case has been registered against the officer in this regard under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
