Senior IAS officer transferred for insensitive remark

Uttar Pradesh's Special Secretary Revenue G Srinivasulu was today transferred for making insensitive comment on death toll in the Uttrakhand tragedy.
The UP government put Srinivasulu on waitlist for the remark.
When asked that how many people from UP perished in Uttarakhand, the senior IAS officer said, "Yahan zinda aane walon ka theek se ginti nahi ho pa rahi hai, marne walon ka kaise pata lagega" (How could one tell about the number of those who died...When the number of people returning alive cannot be counted properly".
Taking serious view of Srinivasulu's comment, which were made at a press conference and later broadcast on some TV channels, the state government put him on the waitlist.
