Prashant was attacked allegedly by BJP workers at the corporation council here on Saturday. Four women councillors and a staff member were injured in the melee during a discussion on installing high mast lights in the city.
The accused had been identified Anand, police said.
Meanwhile, a BJP woman councillor, who was injured in the melee and undergoing treatment alleged that she was assaulted by CPI(M) councillors who addressed her by her caste name.
She alleged though she submitted a complaint to police, no case was registered.
