Seven killed in road accident in Kishtwar

Seven persons, including a Special Police Officer (SPO), were killed when a vehicle in which they were travelling skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The ill-fated Tata Sumo, which was on its way to Gulabgarh from Sohal village, skidded off the road when the driver lost control over it and fell into a gorge near Gulabgarh area of the district last evening, police officials said here today.
On getting information, police and locals rushed to the site of accident and took the seven injured persons to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Atholi where doctors pronounced them brought dead, they said.

The bodies of the deceased were shifted to mortuary of the hospital and will be handed over to family members for last rites after completion of legal formalities, they said.
A case has been registered in this direction, they added.
