The incident took place on National Highway - 31 near Kena village when the driver lost control of the SUV and dashed into a truck parked on the side of the highway, Nawada Sadar's Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sanjay Kumar Pandey said.
The mishap occurred when seven persons were returning to Kena village after attending a marriage function in neighbouring Gaya district, he said.
The accident was so severe that six persons died on the spot while another succumbed to his injuries while being taken to Patna, the DSP said.
One victim is yet to be identified. The injured have been referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) after administering first aid in Nawada, he said.
