He had been living in the ashram for several years and used to offer routine services, they added.
In a suicide note, the sewadar held nobody responsible, saying he decided to end his life out of own volition, SHO (Boranada) Raghuveer Singh said.
According to the SHO, the sewadar identified as Amit Yadav (23), belonged to Rewari (in Haryana) and had been living at Asaram's ashram at Pal village for several years.
"On Thursday late evening, he was found hanging in his room in the ashram. He had not come out of the room for quite some time prompting other attendants to break in. They found his body hanging from the ceiling fan," Singh said.
Asked about the suicide note, Singh said, The note said he was committing suicide on his own wish and nobody should be harassed for it.
The officer added that nothing suspicious was found in the postmortem.
Yadav had left home at an early age and joined Asaram's local ashram. After sometime, he left Rewari and came to Jodhpur, where he had been staying since then, police said.
According to the police, Yadav used to deliver meals to Asaram in jail and stayed in the ashram for the rest of the time attending routine chores.
