The film is said to be based on Hindi writer Premchand's short story of the same name. The 65-year-old actress posted on Twitter a close-up of herself in traditional headgear, sans makeup.

Shahbana thanked her fans for the positive response and mentioned which movie the look is for.
The actress' last venture was "Neerja", as the eponymous character's mother.
