Sister of Shahzad Ahmed, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2008 Batla House encounter case, today said she would move the Supreme Court against the verdict and claimed he was falsely implicated.
"Batla House encounter was fake and youths including my brother were falsely implicated in the case. We know that Shahzad is innocent and we will fight for justice till the end and appeal in Supreme Court," said Sifa Seraj.
The suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorist was today sentenced to life imprisonment by a Delhi court.
Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Rajender Kumar Shastri handed down the life term to Shahzad for killing decorated police officer Inspector M C Sharma and injuring two other cops.
A number of people gathered at Shahjad's house near Tedhia mosque here and expressed solidarity with his family.
National General Secretary of Ulema Council, Tahir Madni, said that he was not happy with the court's judgement and will fight against it.
"We will fight against the judgement on two fronts--one in court and the other in people's court by raking the issue in coming Lok Sabha polls," he said.
Samajwadi Party MLA from Nizamabad, Alambadi said that if Shahzad was guilty he should have been given death penalty in place of life sentence.
