Urging the followers of Sai Baba to ignore the comments made by the Shankaracharya, Baba Hatyogi, national spokesperson of the Parishad told reporters here last night, "The statements (of Swami Swaroopanand) are baseless and confusing."
Former chairman of Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust Jayant Sasane had organised a tour of sadhus, mahants of Haridwar and New Delhi to Shirdi yesterday.
"All of us will meet the Shankaracharya soon and request him to withdraw his statements about Sai Baba. We will also invite him to Shirdi," Pradip Krishnam of New Delhi's Kalki Peeth said.
Swaroopanand's comments have caused a lot of furore with devotees of Sai Baba filing cases against him for hurting their sentiments, at various places in the country.
The devotees had also taken out rallies at various places against the seer.
