Shegaon sansthan elephant dies

A female elephant in the service of Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan died at Shegaon in Buldhana district on Saturday.
The pachyderm 'Rajkumari' (43) died on the 136th manifestation day of the saint.
Rajkumari had been in the service of the Sansthan since 1995 and used to lead annual palanquin procession from Shegaon to Pandharpur, sources said.
She was given a tearful farewell last evening.
