Shepherd killed by lightning

A shepherd boy was killed after being struck by lightning near Soolakarai near here today.
Police said 14-year old Kaleeswaran was charred by the power of the lightning and died on the spot while returning with his cattle.
Most parts of southern districts received heavy rains this evening.
