Shifting liquor shops: Bedi asks villagers to petition excise

Lt Governor Kiran Bedi today asked PWD officials to file petitions before the Deputy Commissioner (Excise) for shifting of liquor shops situated on state highway.
She told this to them during her week end visit to the village following complaints she had received from a voluntary organisation Udhavum Karangal, a press relese said.
She promised them that desilting and deepening of the water bodies would be taken up under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.
