"Our concerns regarding the SGST have been cleared by the finance minister. The government has also agreed to modify the draft law as per our demands," Thackeray said here.
A source in the Sena said, "Thackeray is convinced that financial compensation in lieu of the octroi from the state exchequer to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will be included in the draft bill of the SGST Bill."
Finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar had forwarded the copy of the SGST Bill to Thackeray last night through Deepak Kesarkar, minister of state for finance from the Sena.
Both Thackeray and Mungantiwar held a meeting, in which all the demands of Sena regarding the SGST were resolved.
Meanwhile, the state government today held a presentation of the draft SGST Bill for legislators, where the nitty-gritty of the proposed law were explained to them.
