Actor Arjun Rampal, who will be reprising his role in "Rock On!! 2", says the upcoming film's new director Shujaat Saudagar and actress Shraddha Kapoor are valuable additions to the sequel.
The film will go on floors next month in Shillong and the 42-year-old "Roy" star said Shujaat will bring a new perspective and direction to the story of the musical drama, about a rock band Magik formed by four friends and their relationship.
"Shujaat is a great addition. It is nice when you get a different perspective and a point of view. Shraddha Kapoor also is a great asset and a wonderful actor. I have seen some of her works and she has got a really nice voice," Arjun told PTI.
Filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor, who directed the first part, had moved the Bombay High Court to stall the making of the sequel to the film, accusing Farhan Akhtar's production house Excel Entertainment of giving writer Pubali Chaudhuri sole credit for the script. Kapoor claimed he had been working on the script since 2011.
Asked about his equation with the director, Arjun said, " Abhishek is like a brother, I love him, we made a special film together. Sometimes someone else can take a film forward by taking the mantle... There is no harm in doing that. They move on. I don't think anyone should take it to heart."
The actor said even though sequels can be a tricky business, he did not have an inch of doubt in his mind about starring in the film.
