At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July month rose by Rs 156, or 0.41 per cent to Rs 37,800 per kg in business turnover of 150 lots.
In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in May contracts traded higher by Rs 133, or 0.36 per cent to Rs 37,302 per kg in 10,851 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions created by speculators on the back of pick up in demand in the spot market, mainly led to the rise in silver prices at futures trade but a weak trend in overseas capped the rise.
