"The present procedure for living, unrelated donors is tedious and lengthy. For timely treatment, an easier procedure needs to be put in place," he said while addressing a gathering on the occasion of dera founder Saint Mastana Ji's birth anniversary.
He said the legal process involved in organ donation should not take more than a couple of days and advocated strict punitive penalties to check the illegal sale of organs.
Over 60,000 dera followers have pledged to donate their kidneys, he said.
