The Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) assembled 4,557 musicians and choir members to perform a 90-minute mega concert titled 'Our People, Our Music 2014' at the opening of Singapore Sports Hub last night.
The performers were from 128 school, community centre and clan association music groups.
The participants included two-and-a-half-year olds playing a small pallet drum to musicians in their 80s who had been practising since March, The Sunday Times reported.
Music director Yeh Tsung, 64, conducted the orchestra from a 3-metre high platform with his image projected on two screens for musicians who were seated too far away to see the conducter in person.
