Sinha ensures time-bound completion of railway projects in Bihar

Union Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha today reviewed status of various railway projects in Bihar and promised to remove all obstacles, including funds, to ensure time-bound completion of the projects, East Central Railway (ECR) sources said.

Holding his maiden meeting with senior East Central Railway officials here, Sinha inquired about status of various projects like railway river bridge-cum road project at Digha in Patna, railway bridge project over Ganga in Munger and mega railway bridge project over river Koshi between Nirmali and Saraigarh in Madhubani district.

The minister was apprised by the ECR General Manager Madhuresh Kumar of various obstacles before the projects in Bihar to which he assured him to remove all the bottlenecks, including funds.

The issue of shortage of housing facilities for the railway employees also cropped up in the meeting, and minister said he would look into the matter, the sources said.

The visiting minister directed the ECR officials to reduce operational costs, find out ways to increase revenue and take effective measures to check revenue leakage in loading and unloading of freight.

Besides Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Construction (South) L M Jha, Danapur Division Manager M K Gupta and ECR CPRO Arvind Kumar Rajak were present in the meeting.
