Six farmers in the district have died apparently unable to bear loss of crop due to recent rains and hailstorms, but administration claimed the deaths were 'natural'.

Similarly, the death of Shyam Singh (42) of Khwajpur village under Sadar Tehsil was termed as natural by Sub Divisional Magistrate Lalta Prasad Shakya, quoting the post-mortem report.
Shakya, however, agreed that 50 per cent of the crop was damaged due to rain.
