Acting on a tip-off, the six of them were nabbed when they were having a meeting at Balachara under Borkhola police station, an Assam Police spokesman said.
Of the six, Niramama Biswas, resident of Nadia district of West Bengal and Amiruddin Ahmed of Dhubri district in Assam have already confessed being CPI (Maoist) cadre, the spokesman said.
The others hailing from Assam have been identified as Siddan Urang of Cachar district, the owner of the house where a meeting was on, Bijo Urang, Bipon Urang and Bipul Urang of Cachar district are being questioned, he added.
