Six persons booked for illegal sand mining

Six persons were booked today for carrying out illegal sand mining at the Yamuna riverbed in Tilori here.
Following a tip off, police reached the spot and found the six accused loading sand on two tractors-trollies.
The accused, however, managed to flee from the spot leaving behind the tractors.
While taking the tractors to the police station, the police team were intercepted by the six accused who assaulted the cops and managed to take away the impounded vehicles.
However, one person, identified as Amit, was arrested. A search has been initiated for the absconding accused, an official said.
