District superintendent of police Sandip Diwan issued the order for suspension of police sub-inspector Mahendra Ingle, constables Sudhakar Waghane, Chetan Gajjalwar, Rupesh Randiwe, Sachin Dhone and police driver Gajendra Kudawale after receipt of report on their inquriy ordered on September 2.
The alleged incident had taken place on the night of August 31 when Rohit Bothra was returning in his vehicle after collecting dues from his customers.
His vehicle was chased by the accused in a vehicle which did not bear either the police insignia or number plate, Bothra had alleged.
Chandrapur Chamber of Commerce and various other traders' association had demanded a stringent action against the police personnel involved in the incident.
