Six-year-old dies, four sustain burn injuries

A six-year old boy died while four others of a family sustained burns when a can of petrol caught fire in their house at Mudalipalayam in nearby Tirupur district in the wee hours today.
The family members had gone to sleep after keeping a lit mosquito coil in a room having a can of petrol last night.
The neighbours heard screams from the house and saw the members running helter-skelter with flames over their body and immediately rushed inside and put off the fire.
They were immediately taken and admitted to Government Hospital in Tirupur, police said.
After first aid, all of them were brought and admitted to the Government Hospital.

However, a six-year-old boy succumbed to burns.
