Union minister Pon Radhakrishan today said the Sri Lankan government's new fisheries bill could be right politically, but not for implementation.
It has to be seen whether the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (Amendment) Bill would be implemented in toto, the Minister for Transport and Shipping told reporters here.
"The Bill can be right politically, but not for implementation", Radhakrishnan said.
The bill has drawn flak from various political parties in Tamil Nadu with some terming it a "black bill" and against Tamil Nadu fishermen.
To a question on opposition for GST from various sectors, he said there were bound to be some teething problems for any new scheme or reform and the Centre and officials were trying to clear doubts about it.
Noting that there was no truth in reports that Tamil Nadu government would be dismissed after the presidential election, Radhakrishnan said "BJP was not willing to dismiss any elected government in the country and if any government falls on its own weight, it is their problem."
On being asked about his remarks about Tamil Nadu becoming a battlefield, the Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping said it was a caution in the background of murder and attacks on workers and leaders of various Hindu outfits in Ramanathapuram, Theni and Kanyakumari districts.
