Small sugar advances on persistent demand

Small sugar prices advanced at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to persistent demand from stockists and retailers amid good seasonal offtake.
However, medium sugar weakened following lower offtake from millers and bulk consumers.
Small sugar (S-30) rose by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,642/2,791 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 2,642/2,781.
However, Medium sugar (M-30) declined by Rs 20/10 per quintal at Rs 2,762/2,922 as against to Rs 2,782/2,912 yesterday.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,762/2,922 (Rs 2,782/2,912).
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,642/2,791 (Rs 2,642/2,781).
