Small sugar firms up on improved demand

Small sugar prices firmed up at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to good offtake from stockists and retailers amid seasonal buying.
While, medium variety ended mixed owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling.
Small sugar (S-30) moved up by Rs 4/13 per quintal to Rs 3,096/3,205 from last weekend's level of Rs 3,092/3,192.
Medium sugar (M-30) was quoted at Rs 3,212/3,350 per quintal as against Rs 3,202/3,352 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,096/3,205 (Rs 3,092/3,192.
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,212/3,350 (Rs 3,202/3,352).
