Small sugar surges on millers offtake

Small sugar prices surged at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to sustained millers offtake amidst good demand from bulk consumers.
While, medium sugar ended mixed following alternate bouts of buying and selling.
Small sugar (S-30) climbed by Rs 24 per quintal to Rs 2,842/2,975 from Monday's closing level of Rs 2,842/2,951.
However, Medium sugar (M-30) was quoted at Rs 2,950/3,122 per quintal.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,950/3,122 (Rs 2,940/3,132).
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,842/2,975 (Rs 2,842/2,951).
