The smart grid will be developed jointly by private sector, government and Power Corporation of India on Public-Private-Partnership model.
Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal was given a presentation on the model of the smart grid here.
Power Secretary of Haryana Rajan Gupta and Power Grid Corporation of India CMD R N Naik, among others have been entrusted with preparation proposal of Gurgaon's smart grid.
Speaking to mediapersons, Goyal said that this model will stress on use of new and renewable energy and also on energy efficient buildings.
He said that the task of developing Smart Grid will be monitored on monthly basis and Chief Minister M L Khattar will also analyze the work on quarterly basis.
The prospective power demand of coming 20 years in Gurgaon City will be taken into account, he said.
