According to Indirapuram SHO Gorakh Nath Yadav, police and Excise Department teams intercepted the truck at UP gate last night.
A search of the vehicle revealed 1,200 cartons of bottles of foreign liquor, worth Rs 65 lakh, stashed inside, he said.
Police arrested the driver, Jagtar Singh of Kurukshetra in Haryana, while his other associates managed to flee.
During interrogation, the driver told the police that the liquor was being smuggled for retailing here.
The liquor and the vehicle were confiscated, the SHO said, adding that the driver has been sent to jail.
