smuggler, who was declared a Proclaimed Offender by a court for jumping the bail and recovered 1.50 kg of contraband opium with street value of Rs 1.75 lakh from his possession.
Moga Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jatinder Singh Khaira said that Avtar Singh alias Tari was arrested from Dosanjh road in this district following a tip-off.
He was declared a Proclaimed Offender by the court after he recently jumped bail in a case for which he was awarded ten years of imprisonment, the SSP said.
Tari is a resident of Kotise Khan and was presently residing in Sadhanwali Basti in Moga city, he said.
