Smuggling bid foiled, 13 bovines rescued

As many as 13 bovine animals were rescued from a truck in Udhampur district, police said today.
The truck and the animals, which were being taken to the Valley, were seized but the driver managed to flee, they said.
Acting on a tip-off, a police party from Kud Police Station in Udhampur yesterday intercepted the truck at a check-post on the National Highway near Karal Nallah.
A case has been registered.
