No traffic was allowed from Srinagar and Jammu as a precautionary measure.
"The highway is closed due to snowfall at Jawahir tunnel and other areas en route. It is snowing", a traffic police officer said.
There has been snowfall in the tourist resort of Patnitop, Nathatop, upper hills of Mata Vaishnodevi cave shrine, Kishtwar and Doda since last night.
Light showers were received in Jammu.
