Federer took out Somdev for the loss of just four games as the 17-time Grand Slam winner handed the Indian a crushing 6-2 6-1 6-1 in the second round in just one hour and 12 minutes.
The only time Somdev looked like putting up a fight against Federer was in the fourth game when he earned two break chances but squandered both.
Somdev could never play his baseline game as Federer often approached net, stood a like a wall that could not be breached easily.
It was a one-way traffic as Somdev, who usually fights till the end, could not present any challenge to his way far superior opponent.
