"There are some forces that are trying to create divide in the society, but SP is determined to counter them," Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said while flagging off the first batch of Haj pilgrims here.
"You all should pray for the peace and prosperity of the state and country," he said.
Minority Welfare Minister Mohd Azam Khan praised the CM for his attempts to maintain peace and brotherhood in the state.
He said it was the duty of the government to provide better facilities to Haj pilgrims and added that attempts were underway to improve the facilities.
