The film, an action drama, is a sequel to 2011 film "Force", which starred Abraham in cop's role.
"We have cast Sonakshi in the film. She is paired opposite John. She is the correct choice. I can't talk about whether she will be seen as a married woman or not," Abhinay told PTI.
"His (John's) role will continue (as a cop) but he will solve a new case. Its a new a script... A new story. I am doing my best and the rest is upto the audience," the "Delhi Belly" helmer said.
"Yep yep! Told you I had news for you... Super excited to be playing a RAW agent in my next film - FORCE 2," Sonakshi posted on twitter.
The film will go on floors in September.
