Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said if the literate population showed inclination toward agricultural development, the people in rural areas could walk on their footsteps in putting Jharkhand on the fast track of development.
"Agriculture is a profitable business, and one should understand it. If the literate youth come forward, then the youth in villages will follow them in the path of development," an official release said quoting Soren as saying at a programme here.
"Neither there is any dearth of resources nor funds in the state. If there is anything lacking, it is vision and thought," he said.
Asking the people to inculcate civic sense and become aware of their responsibilities, he said change was difficult as long as these two objectives were not realised.
Stating that the press had a big role in the development as its influence covered the entire society, he said, everyone has the responsibility to contribute in shaping and steering the state on the path of development.
Stating that he was not afraid of taking up challenges nor of their consequences, he said, if he was scared of anything it was of any wrong doing.
Terming 'useless' to describe what had happened in the last 13 years in the state, the chief minister said the need of the hour was to have 'will power' to move ahead and one could attain the goals with cooperation from everyone.
