Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today appreciated the spirit of students for donating Rs 21,000 towards relief for the flood-hit Jammu and Kashmir.
"To meet the challenges of natural calamities like floods, even small assistance becomes big in saving a life," Soren said after accepting a draft from the students of Ranchi University.
"The people of J&K require our support," Soren said appealing to the people to come forward with assistance generously.
The state government had already pledged Rs five crore for flood relief and sent 40,000 blankets to the flood victims earlier this month.
