The body of Anita, daughter-in-law of Atmaprakash Shukla, a Samajwadi Party leader and vice-chairman of UPTRON (UP Electronics Corporation Limited), was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her house yesterday, they said.
Anita's family has lodged a murder complaint against her husband Nivendra at Naubasta police station, they said.
The deceased's brother Kamlesh alleged foul play saying that the husband and wife's "strained relations" led to frequent arguments and that Nivendra had a hand in her death, police said.
The body was sent for post mortem where the cause of death was confirmed as hanging, they said, adding that further investigations are on.
