SP LS candidate's car mows down boy: Family

A two-year-old boy was mowed down today by a speeding car allegedly belonging to Samajwadi Party Lok Sabha candidate from Faizabad constituency, police said.
"A case has been lodged in this regard. The vehicle that hit the boy was related to SP candidate Mitra Sen Yadav. We taking further action," Faizabad SP R A Gautam said.
On the basis of a complaint filed by boy's father Babban Nishad, a case had been registered at Pura Kalandar Police Station here, the SP said.
Sumit was playing outside his house when the speeding SUV hit him, Nishad said in his complaint.
Yadav, a sitting MLA from Bikapur, was sitting on the back seat of the vehicle, alleged eye-witnesses and the boy's father.

An escort vehicle following Yadav's SUV took Sumit to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, Nishad said.
