A Samajwadi Party MLA's son and his aides have been booked for their alleged involvement in the demolition of an under-construction nursing home building here.
Dr Mohammad Nasir, in his complaint, alleged that Vikrant -- the son of SP MLA from Bachrawan Ram Lal Akela, and his over two dozen armed associates got the building near hotel Saras demolished after he refused to pay an extortion of Rs 20 lakh.
Dr Nasir alleged that he had also received death threats from the MLA's son, police said.
An FIR had been filed against Vikrant and 20 others yesterday and investigations are on, Superintendent of Police, Rajesh Pandey, said.
When contacted, Vikrant said he had purchased the plot of land and the sale deed was in his name.
Dr Nasir, however, refuted the claims of Vikrant and said that the land belonged to him and he had all the relevant documents to prove it.
He said that the administration and police had not taken any step against those responsible for the demolition.
Meanwhile, a demonstration against the district administration and the MLA was held at the Motel crossing in Kotwali area today.
Led by corporator Nazim, the protesters raised slogans and handed over a memorandum to the city magistrate, demanding immediate action against the encroachers.
