Constituted on the directive of the CMO, the cell consists of officials from Tourism, Home, PWD, Health, Power, Disaster Management, Transport and Potable Water departments, besides weather and BRO officials.
The cell will be established in the Disaster management control room at the secretariat. The coordinators will be secretary tourism U K Panwar, Additional Secretary (Tourism) Amit Negi and Shiv Kumar Gupta, District Tourism Development Officer.
DMs of all the districts of Garhwal region have been instructed to be in regular touch with the supervisory cell and provide timely information to it in the course of the yatra which began earlier this month with the opening of the portals of Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines in the Himalayas.
