Spices maintain steady in mute trade

Prices of black pepper, ginger unbleached and copra maintained steady in an otherwise mute spices market here today in the absence of any major demand from stockists and retailers.
Following are today's closing rates (in Rs) with previous rates in brackets:
Black pepper (per kg) 410/500 (410/500), ginger unbleached (per kg) 135 (135), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 12,000 (12,000), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 11,800 (11,800), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 16,000 (16,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 13,500 (13,500).
