Sporadic rain brings respite from heat in UP

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers occurred at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours giving relief to the people from scorching heat, the MET department said here today.
According to the MeT Department, Karchhana recorded 3 cm rainfall while Sultanpur, Mukhlispur and Hardoi 2 cm each, and Musafirkhana, Chhatnag, and Amethi each.
Day temperature rose markedly in Bareilly division, Meerut division, Agra division, while they fell appreciably in Faizabad, Allahabad divisions and changed little elsewhere.
Mercury was appreciably above normal in Bareilly division, markedly below normal in Agra division, appreciably below normal in Gorakhpur, Faizabad divisions, below normal in Allahabad, Kanpur, Meerut divisions and normal elsewhere.

Highest maximum temperature was 43.8 degree Celsius recorded at Etawah, the weatherman said.
The department has forecast that rain or thundershowers would occur at isolated places over the state tomorrow.
